Axe Throwing Enthusiasts Prepare for Thrilling WKTL USA Pro-Am Championship in Appleton

Appleton, Wisconsin, May 25, 2023 – The thrilling World Knife Throwing League (WKTL) USA Pro-Am Championship is set to take center stage in Appleton, Wisconsin, from November 9-12. Hundreds of skilled competitors will converge on the beautiful Fox Cities region to showcase their knife throwing prowess and compete for multiple championship titles, with a chance to be featured on the ESPN broadcast.

The WKTL, in partnership with the World Axe Throwing League (WATL), is excited to bring this event back to the passionate and supportive community of Appleton. “We’re extremely excited to bring knife throwing back to Appleton along with the World Axe Throwing League. Our last experience there was overwhelmingly positive from our community and the community of Fox Cities,” expressed Evan Walters, WKTL Commissioner.

Retiring the US Open Format

The USA Pro-Am Championship marks a new and exciting chapter for the sport, retiring the previous US Open format. This tournament will showcase throwers of various skill levels, paving the way for future divisions in knife throwing competition. The event will also lean into the more fun and exciting aspects of the sport, capturing the true heart of the community beyond the live streams and broadcasts.

“It’s been said before that you won’t find the true heart of this sport on the live streams or current broadcasts; to find that you’d have to keep the cameras rolling once all competition is done. Watch the pros giving advice and sharing tips and tricks while doing pretty much anything BUT traditional throwing. This is what we want to encapsulate and show to the public,” added the WKTL Commissioner.

Event Details

The USA Pro-Am Championship will feature a total of 9 events, with all finals set to be aired on ESPN. Registrations will open on June 12 and remain open for 3 weeks, offering opportunities for both seasoned and aspiring knife throwers to participate.

Knife throwing enthusiasts can look forward to a thrilling display of skill, sportsmanship, and the pure joy of the sport as the WKTL USA Pro-Am Championship comes to Appleton this November.
